The Jacques Lipchitz Room contains ten sculptures and a collection of drawings by the French and American sculptor (1891–1973). The works were donated to the Hermitage by the Jacques and Yulla Lipchitz Foundation through the good offices of the Hermitage Museum Foundation (USA). The sculptural group Jacob and the Angel (1931), executed in a Cubist style, reflects Lipchitz’s fascination with Scythian art. The monumental Bust of John F. Kennedy (1964–65) references portraits of Roman emperors.
